ENJOY Learning and Reading by choosing books that interest you on the Bison Reading site.   Join the initiative and set a goal to practice reading with books that you enjoy for 20 minutes each day.   When you practice reading, you will experience better fluency, expand your vocabulary, and increase your reading comprehension skills.

Not only will independent reading help you academically, but you can go on an adventure, experience new things, and learn through an author's experience.

Key components to increasing reading comprehension

There are several key components to increase reading comprehension: vocabulary and word practice, fluency with the words on the page, and practice with reading.  Therefore, practice with vocabulary and fluency are included on this site. However, the main objective is to increase reading practice that is fun and exciting for students.   To achieve this goal and to help students comprehend what they read, students may need to work to use the resources provided under fluency and vocabulary to help build skills to better practice reading.

The important thing is to practice reading!  So, find a book that you will enjoy and go on a reading adventure!
