Robotics and Drones
Robotics and Drones are setup in grade-bands where we use learning stations to ensure that all students have an opportunity to experience every aspect of robotics and drones, from building and creating, to learning in small groups, and coding robots and drones. This is an exciting part of our program for both OVCA and ISOK students and we would love to have you join us!

The Building Group: This will be a beginner’s robotics group that provides hands-on building and is geared towards elementary students through 8th grade. There is no coding in this group, just building and experimenting with making robots by hand. Here is an example of what students can build in this group: https://safeYouTube.net/w/F3Yg

The Coding Group: In this group, we will start working with coding. This is geared towards elementary age students that are looking for more coding opportunities. We build and code the robots in this group. Check out what you can do here: https://safeYouTube.net/w/J3Yg

The MindStorm Group: For more advanced students or those in secondary grades, we will have the LEGO Mindstorm, which allows for more complex building projects and coding. Check it out here: https://safeYouTube.net/w/O3Yg

Laptop, Ipad, and Tablet Questions: The school will have computers for students to use for coding robots; however, if there are not enough available, students may need to have other options. Students that are coding will probably be working in groups of 2 to 4 students and will be coding together - so, one computer for each group will be needed. I believe the robots only work with a Windows System, but there may be a possibility that they will work with ipads/tablets. Please indicate if you are able to bring your personal computer equipment with you for coding groups.
